*How to defeat COVID-19?*

“Corona virus”- probably, the most dreaded word of this century.
Can’t be seen through naked eyes, yet endangering the entire mankind for the last 8-10 months.

But “Every problem has a solution.” - So...

The main point of concern is, How can we defeat covid -19?

What is WHO doing?

According to the guidelines of World Health Organisation- every country is following it’s own set of rules and regulations. For instance,

“Washing Hands"- Is it really important?

Absolutely. Washing your hand is the single most effective way to prevent the spread of this virus. You can catch germs when you touch contaminated objects or surfaces and then when you touch your face after this, like mouth, eyes and nose, you are probably enabling the virus to enter your body.

"Good" hand washing techniques include using an adequate amount of soap, rubbing the hands together to create friction and rinsing under running water.

Wearing gloves is NOT a substitute for hand washing.

“Sanitizers”- Experts agree that more the alcohol content in a hand sanitizer, the more effective it will be at killing germs.

In fact, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that you use a sanitizer with atleast 60% alcohol content.

Sanitizers don't replace soap and water if your hands are dirty, but along with regular hand washing, it definitely helps fight many important germs.

How does it work?

It works by killing microbial cells.

Many companies are now providing sanitizers at an affordable price.

 “Masks”
How do the different types of masks work?
Surgical masks,
also called a medical mask, is a loose-fitting disposable mask that protects the person's nose and mouth from contact with droplets, splashes and sprays that might contain germs.

At this time, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved any type of surgical mask specifically for protection against the corona virus, but these masks may provide some protection when N95 masks are not available.

"N 95 masks"

Actually a type of respirator, an N 95 mask offers more protection than a surgical mask because it can filter out both large and small particles when we breathe.

“Social distancing or Physical Distancing"

People should stay at home unless it’s very urgent.
In public places, they should maintain a distance of at least 6 feet among one another.

“What if symptoms of COVID-19 is seen” ?

1. Mild symptoms- People should stay at home isolation responsibly as this will reduce the burden on the hospitals .

2. Severe cases of Covid-19 are being put in isolation wards in hospitals and symptomatic treatment is being done.

“Duty of government"

1. Number of beds in hospital should increase significantly.
2. Hospitals should recruit more staff by easing the hiring process.
3. Hospital administration should discharge healthy patients at faster rate. This will result in less numbers of patients and comparatively more physicians will be available.

4. PPE for healthcare workers, doctors & nurses should be available in adequate amount at all times, as in this war, our front line warriors like doctors, nurses & other healthcare workers are putting their lives ahead of anything else.
Still, we have lost so many healthcare workers in this pandemic.

5. Through social media - government should provide online basic health education, homecare, helpline numbers, door step delivery of basic medications .

“Almost every country has imposed a Lock down to break the chain of transmission as this virus is contagious and is spreading by mere touch.

“Vaccine” -
When will a definite vaccine of Covid-19 be launched?

Many pharmaceutical companies are in the race of introducing authentic vaccine of corona, but the process of launching a vaccine is time consuming , as it has to cross various levels of clinical trials.

“People are taking it lightly.”
We need to understand one thing,
“The pandemic is not over, just because we are over it” .

No government, no institutions, no pharmaceutical company, no WHO can alone defeat this virus.

Each and every individual should take care of their safety and hygiene, then shall we overcome this deadly virus.

Well the term “defeat” for this virus is not justifiable, because it has damaged the entire world economy too.
It may take a year or two to recover and get everything back on track.

Yet, by maintaining and building one’s own immunity,
for instances, by taking
“Multivitamin supplements” -
Like vitamin ‘C’ tablets- (easily available in almost every pharmacy) - it contributes to the immunity by supporting various cellular functions of both the innate and adaptive immune system.
“Zinc supplements” - like Cashews, pumpkin seeds, Chickpeas etc. should be taken."

Like - Broccoli, Red bell peppers, citrus fruit (oranges, lemons) , Garlic, Ginger, Spinach, Almonds, Yogurt , Turmeric etc.
